For the first time in 15 years, Ellen DeGeneres is returning to stand-up comedy and she's making a splash with Netflix. A lot has happened for the daytime talkshow host since 2003's HBO special, Here And Now. On the heels of her coming out (a pioneering moment at the time) and losing a sitcom in the process, DeGeneres released a special and started a new chapter of her life as a daytime host where she found more success than a sitcom star. Rather than returning to stand-up because she "has to," DeGeneres is breaking her 15 year hiatus for the love of comedy. Which is kinda how they get all of the greats.
