Full Frontal With Samantha Bee on TBS.

“Full Frontal With Samantha Bee” has been canceled

Yet another TBS show draws to a close as Full Frontal With Samantha Bee is saying goodbye. The official social media accounts for Full Frontal confirmed that the show, which ran for seven seasons, would not be making a return.

“After 7 seasons, Full Frontal with Samantha Bee will not be returning to TBS this fall. We’re so thankful for our loyal audience, our amazing team, and that we got to annoy the right people every week—that there wasn’t wrestling or baseball or a very special episode of Big Bang,” the announcement read.

Bee was one of several prominent television hosts who had their start with The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Like Bee, Steven Colbert, John Oliver and Hasan Minhaj all originally came up through that show, and their own work is often talked about as spiritual successors.

TBS also made a statement about the cancellation. “As we continue to shape our new programming strategy, we’ve made some difficult, business-based decisions. ‘Full Frontal With Samantha Bee,’ will not return to TBS,” said a spokesperson.

The show is just the latest in a line of late night programming show conclusions. Conan O’Brien recently stepped away from his show, and James Corden has announced that he will be leaving next year. While this might appear to be a sign of the overall shakeup of late night, this cancellation is more likely the result of the Warner Media / Discovery merger that happened a few months back that has essentially upset the chessboard across this world including networks and TV shows.
