Gary Gulman is taping his next special for HBO and we're psyched for him! Gulman is one of the best comedians working today, and if you think that's hyperbole just watch his bit about state abbreviations and bask in its genius. Gulman recently hit the road for his tour called The Great Depresh and the special will have the title of the same name. Judging solely by the tour name, we're thinking a lot of this special's material will focus on his recent battle with mental illness. Something that sidelined Gulman for a while after his previous stand-up comedy special. He tells this story on a 2017 episode of The Hilarious World of Depression podcast.

The special will be executive-produced by Judd Apatow who stated, "Gary is one of my favorite comics and I am excited to get a chance to work with him on his new special," says Apatow. "More than ever, it's important for us to speak openly about issues of mental health and Gary does so in a way that is both entertaining and poignant." Michael Bonfiglio is set to direct the special added, "Gary Gulman is one of the funniest people in comedy, and the material he's created for his new show is as moving and empowering as it is hilarious," adding, "It's been a thrill working with him over the past year, and I couldn't be happier that HBO has embraced this truly special special."

Gulman will tape his special in Brooklyn, NY at the Roulette Intermedium on June 22nd. Tickets to the tapings are now on sale by going to www.garygulman.com to pick them up.
