Ben Stiller is heading back to the big screen in Brad's Status, a slightly dramatic comedy written and directed by Enlightened star Mike White.
Co-starring Jenna Fischer, Luke Wilson, and Michael Sheen, Brad's Status follows the title character (Stiller), a middle-aged man who, "despite a good career and happy family, is obsessed with the better fortunes of his old friends from school. While escorting his musical prodigy son (played by Austin Abrams) on an East Coast tour of colleges, he is forced to confront the success of his friends and his own feelings of failure."
The film also features music from DEVO frontman Mark Mothersbaugh, and, apparently, a guest appearance by Jimmy Kimmel as himself.
Brad's Status is right in line with the comic actor's other recent projects, like Noah Baumbach's Greenberg and While We're Young, both about aging hipsters dealing with their declining coolness -- something Stiller will never have to worry about.
