Howard Stern has made many friends over the years. During his climb to the top of the pile, the radio jock befriended many bands that have rolled into his studio. One such band, Bon Jovi, were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame this weekend. When a band is inducted, they usually have a musician friend make a speech. But Bon Jovi went a bit of a different route and asked the King of All Media to give their induction speech. Something that Stern accepted, which is rare considering how the radio host often jokes about how he never travels outside of the greater New York area. So getting him on a plane to fly to Cleveland is a big deal. Band frontman Jon Bon Jovi stated that Stern was their first choice because they had parallel careers and felt that nobody knows not only Jon, but the rest of the band as well as Howard.
So this weekend, Stern went out to Cleveland and delivered a hilarious and heartfelt (well, as heartfelt as he could) speech about the band's accomplishments. Chock full of digs at Hall of Fame/Rolling Stone figurehead Jann Wenner for taking so long to induct the band. Stern led a singalong of a song, attempted to put into perspective how many albums the band sold by comparing it to sperm, and even made a few jokes about the size of Richie Sambora's manhood. Oh, and if that wasn't enough he even gave a few middle fingers for Bob Dylan. Remember, it's the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, not the Oscars.
The ceremony will air a bit later this year.
