Comedian Jerrod Carmichael is releasing his next special on Mother's Day. The conversation involves him talking to his family members who all happen to be women and he's showcasing the Black woman point of view. Carmichael has always been a comedian to take his art from a different perspective and we're assuming the same is happening here. Though billed as a special, we're thinking there's more to it than just stand-up since it's set to premiere on HBO on Mother's Day at 7pm and only lasting a half hour. So, expect Carmichael having a dialogue with the ladies in his life (mother, sisters) about all kinds of social topics, including interracial dating.
The poster for the film also features a gaze at the female perspective. In the image, Carmichael holds a little girl, which could indicate that this means Carmichael wants to make sure that what he is learning from the women around him becomes like second nature for him, since he might want to be aware of what challenges and expectations the next generation of women might have to face.
Home Videos premieres on May 12th at 7pm ET.
