Arguably one of the most influential comedians of all time is Lenny Bruce. Bruce effectively broke down barriers in comedy and what you can say, and paved the way for the generations of comedians that followed after his death in 1966. His only daughter, Kitty, has worked tirelessly over the years with The Lenny Bruce Foundation, to not only help move her father’s legacy forward, but help those in need of help with substance abuse issues and guiding them towards recovery.
After years of helping others, Kitty has found herself in need of some help herself. Two years ago, Kitty fractured her sternum, which has left her in and out of the hospital and with a stack of costly medical bills. This is where Comedy Gives Back has stepped in to help. Founded by Jodi Lieberman, Amber J. Lawson and Zoe Friedman, a new fund has been started to help Kitty Bruce with the expenses and to continue on her healing journey.
