Louis C.K. has quietly been working on his first movie in 16 years

Louis C.K. is just the king of doing things however he wants. After the release of his Netflix special 2017 a few months back we were wondering what his next project would be. C.K. has already gone on record that had he resurrected Louie, it would be a much different show. So, instead he secretly made a movie called I Love You, Daddy and its set to premiere at next month's Toronto International Film Festival. It's the comedian's first time directing a film since 2001's Pootie Tang, a film with a cult following but by all reports, didn't leave a then unknown C.K. with great feelings about the Hollywood film industry as he lost a lot of creative control and final edits of the film with Paramount Pictures.

As for I Love You, Daddy, what is known about the film is that it was shot in 35mm black-and-white in New York last year. The story centers on C.K. as a “successful television producer and writer” named Glen Topher with a daughter names China, played by Chloe Grace Moretz. Rounding out the cast includes Rose Byrne, Helen Hunt, Charlie Day, John Malkovich, Edie Falco, and Pamela Adlon.
