Luis J. Gomez makes his argument that he's now the most important "Louie" in comedy

On a recent episode of the YKWD Podcast, host Robert Kelly hung with the show's "regulars" - Dan Soder, Joe List, and Luis J. Gomez. One of the topics the crew discussed was the recent allegations against Louis C.K., a comedian that Kelly has been friends with for years and one Joe List served as an opener for much of the last year.

During the course of the conversation Luis J. Gomez declared that because of these events, he was now the most important "Louie" in comedy. The inevitable conclusion of this line of conversation was that Gomez would replace C.K. on his FX show Louie, leading Gomez to want to re-shoot the intro to said show. From there it was all but becoming a foregone conclusion that this would happen. Gomez recruited his Legion of Skanks podcast co-hosts Big Jay Oakerson and Dave Smith to help him with the music to the new intro that has his own flourishes on it.
