Ever since Saturday Night Live first started in 1975, a staple of the show has been their pop culture parodies. In recent years, the parodies have gotten so good that it’s sometimes hard to distinguish when the real thing ends and when the parody begins. But this time, this doesn’t so much feel like a parody as it does something we actually really want to see.
With The Last of Us becoming a big hit for HBO since it premiered recently, SNL gave another video game the HBO treatment: Mario Kart. Pedro Pascal plays Mario, with Chloe Fineman playing Princess Peach, and Mikey Day playing Luigi. Aesthetically, this could be one of the best looking SNL filmed pieces we’ve ever seen!
