Former Animal Pictures producing partners Natasha Lyonne and Maya Rudolph have amicably parted ways, with both excited to support one another as they pursue separate creative producing paths. Founded in 2018 by Rudolph, Lyonne, and Danielle Renfrew Behrens (President), Animal Pictures has produced the sci-fi existential death comedy Russian Doll, the all-female Beirut metal band documentary, Sirens, and Sammi Cohen’s directorial debut, Crush. The company is also responsible for Poker Face and Loot, which star Lyonne and Rudolph, respectively, as well as sci-fi animated comedy The Hospital, which was created by Cirocco Dunlap.

What's next for Animal Pictures coming up?

Animal Pictures has Alia Shawkat’s Desert People, and Extra-Ordinary, based on the Irish indie from Mike Ahern & Enda Loughman. Rudolph and Lyonne will co-produce these projects, but will not put any new work into development as a team beyond this.
