A few months back Netflix ordered a half-hour comedy series based on Justin Simien’s 2014 film Dear White People. Today, the streaming giant announced the premiere date and released a trailer for the show. Basically, the show is about, well, things that White folks shouldn't do. Featuring a young black woman who hosts a radio show on her mostly white campus. After a series of racially insensitive parties on campus cause tension on campus, the radio show becomes the center of a conversation about race.
Being set on a college campus and looks to be a blend of PCU, one of the greatest films ever made starring a then 35 year old Jeremy Piven; and Higher Ground, Spike Lee's movie about race relations on college campuses. Brandon P. Bell, Logan Browning, Antoinette Robertson, DeRon Horton, John Patrick Amedori, and Ashley Blaine Featherson are set to star. The series will premiere on April 28th.
