Nick Kroll is getting his first stand-up special on a decade, “Little Big Boy”

It seems hard to believe that it’s been 10 years since Nick Kroll had a stand-up special. It also seems hard to believe that he’s never had one for Netflix. After all, he’s done the very successful Big Mouth with them, and even streamed his Broadway show Oh Hello! on the platform. That is all about to change.

Yesterday, it was announced that Kroll will be getting his first special on the streamer. The special will be titled Little Big Boy, and was shot at the Warner Theater in Washington D.C.

“I could be wrong, but I don’t know if people think of me really as a stand up, because I’ve been doing sketch and animation and acting and the writing stuff,” Kroll told Variety. But I’ve always done stand up. It’s always been in the background. It was 2018 and my girlfriend at the time, now my wife was like, ‘why don’t you do a special? How come you haven’t done an hour?’ I didn’t really have a good reason. Except of being busy with other stuff. And at that point, I decided to really commit to do a special.”

He toured in 2019, planned the special for 2020, then we all know what happened. He wound up eventually filming it, and now we’ll finally get to see it.

Nick Kroll: Little Big Boy hits Netflix on September 27th.
