Nikki Glaser is Nominated for her First Grammy for “Someday You’ll Die”

Nikki Glaser has been a prominent and popular name in stand-up for years now. But within the last year, we’ve seen her reach new heights with her career!

It all started back in May, when she was on Netflix’s highly-watched Roast of Tom Brady. Nikki was the first comic to go up and - as someone who was in the room - I can attest to the fact that she killed it, earning a unanimous standing ovation. Even though she’s been killing it at roasts for years, there was something magical about that specific performance.

Last summer, she came out with her second special for HBO, titled Someday You’ll Die. In the special - which was produced by 800 Pound Gorilla Media -, Glaser tackled subjects such as not wanting kids, the realities of getting older, her sexual fantasies, and so much more. The special was received well by critics and fans alike, and even garnered her an Emmy nomination for Best Stand-Up Comedy Performance.

Now, things just keep building up further, as that same special has gotten Glaser - who just hosted the Golden Globes a few weeks ago - her first Grammy nomination for Best Comedy Album. It’s another testament to her work as a comic, but also, just what a hell of a year she’s had in general.

“I was shocked because as a comedian, you just don’t expect to win a Grammy,” she said in an interview. She added,”If I win, it will be the biggest accomplishment of my life. I’ve secretly always been obsessed with musicians and singers, and it’s what I’ve always wanted to be but didn’t really pursue for whatever reason. It would just be accomplishing something that - as a comedian - I never thought I would get.”

The Grammy Awards air this Sunday on CBS.
