After the news broke yesterday about the dissolution of The Opie With Jimmy Show on SiriusXM, many were left wondering what the future of the show's hosts Gregg "Opie" Hughes and Jim Norton would be. It was alluded that they'd both stay on SiriusXM's airwaves, but with different shows. Opie is now saying that's not yet the case.
This morning Opie released another video narrating over aquatic life (this time seahorses) stating that he received an offer from SiriusXM just this morning, but rejected it because the conditions of the deal were not right and that it's, "not looking good."
Hughes also stated (amist a lot of things) on his Twitter account that Norton signed his deal with SiriusXM weeks ago, not yesterday originally implied. He also made a series of Twitter responses about his former co-host and the deal.
Things that aren't true. Never lobbied for afternoons w/ Tim Sabean. He suggested it at one point and I rejected it https://t.co/Kh5dxPhPMN

According to my agent Jimmy signed his contract weeks ago and not tuesday. It wasn't my choice to leave show I was pushed out. More to come

He started it by telling me over a yr ago he was leaving the show. This is well documented on radio/podcast shows he did and Esquire article https://t.co/GuR0SkxZPf

The thought was he wants to leave the show but it's still working so why not still do 2 days w/ him and give him 2/3 days to do his own show

Maybe if you say that enough it will come true! You can't make changes to a contract after its signed. MY AGENT SAID HE SIGNED WEEKS AGO. https://t.co/76UdtFqouo

Fair enough but the point is he signed a contract weeks ago. I was very surprised to hear this from my agent and not Jimmy. https://t.co/owWToEAQs3

A lot of bullshit is being slung around. I will have my complete side of this in time. Thanks for all the positive tweets.
