Last night was the mid-season finale of The Chris Gethard Show and the guests on the show were his lontime friends Paul Scheer and Jason Mantzoukas. Every time he hangs with his old friends they start to pick on him like a big brother. So, last night Gethard attempted to enact some revenge on his friends by abandoning them at the top of the show and leave them on live TV to fend for themselves, but is that it didn't go as planned. Not only did Scheer and Mantzoukas provide a hilarious, entertaining, and engaging hour of live television in spite of Gethard, they left him with an empty studio audience with nothing but a few camera men, his wife/bandleader, and a tortoise eating lettuce.
The highlight reel provides for a great summation of the evening but watching the entire episode slowly go off the rails against Gethard is a spectacle to watch. Live television, it's friggin' great.
New episodes of The Chris Gethard Show will return in March.
