Pete Davidson reveals he's quit drugs and is now sober for the first time in 8 years

Pete Davidson's had a love/hate relationship with social media for a long time now. Going as far as deleting his instagram account more than once. Recently, his account (which was dark for some time) came back to life with a post celebrating his newfound sobriety, explaining his slight absence from the show. The 23-year-old comedian posted a photo of himself with the following statement.
Just wanted to let you guys know I'm okay. I know I've kinda been missing, on social media and on the show. I quit drugs and am happy and sober for the first time in 8 years. It wasn't easy, but I got a great girl, great friends and I consider myself a lucky man. I'll always be here for you guys, I promise. Remember to never give up hope because sometimes that's all we got. We are a family and I appreciate all your love and support. It's nice to be back in action ❤️

Just last year, Davidson spoke with High Times that he was using use of medical marijuana to treat Chrohn's disease which he's had since he was 17. Davidson followed up his post with two other pics, one showing love for his "great girl," who happens to be Larry David's daughter Cazzie. The second from the night Dave Chappelle hosted Saturday Night Live with him in a scene with the legendary comic.

Congrats on your sobriety Pete!
