Last night on The Tonight Show, Steve Carell stopped by to find out he's a certified silver fox -- and to swap stories about the 80s and auditioning for The Dana Carvey Show with host Jimmy Fallon.
The actor was ostensibly there to talk about his latest project, Despicable Me 3, which features a very 80s-inspired villain who apparently reminded Carell of himself, back in the day when he was really into big shoulders and even bigger pants. While he was on The Tonight Show couch, he was also reminded of his audition for The Dana Carvey Show, which Fallon also tried to get staffed on. Carell auditioned with a Pope John Paul II bit that ended up getting him on air -- but, unfortunately, Fallon didn't fare as well, apparently because Louis C.K. didn't quite take to him.
The pair also put on some pretty great wigs to play a round of "Blow Your Mind," where they take turns guessing whether insane-sounding facts are real or not -- and, if they're wrong, getting blasted in the face with an air gun:
Despicable Me 3 hits theaters on June 30th.
