Conan O’Brien travels again with “Conan O’Brien Must Go”

In addition to his 28 years spent behind a talk show desk, Conan O’Brien also managed to make a name for himself outside of the studio. Early on, he became known for going all-in on his remote segments. Eventually, he started to travel farther, managing to go overseas with the segments.

Finally, in 2015, he went to Cuba for a special. Since then, he’s gone to Mexico, Armenia, Qatar, Italy, Israel, Haiti, Japan, Australia, Ghana, and Greenland. Now, he’s back with a new documentary-series.

Produced by his longtime producer Jeff Ross (but not the comedian), Conan O’Brien Must Go finds O’Brien meeting fans on his podcast, and then going overseas to visit them in their respective countries. It’s the first show he’s hosted since leaving late night almost 2 years ago, and it’s nice to have him back on TV.

“Conan is a national treasure…at least that’s what he keeps telling me,” says Nina Rosenstein, Executive Vice President, HBO Programming. It’s been an absolute dream to work with him, Jeff, and the whole Conaco team. They’re everything you’d hope for – insanely smart, ridiculously funny, and nicer than they’d probably want to admit.”

Adds O’Brien, “My fans around the globe never asked me to visit them, so I did.”
