The comedy community pays tribute to The Comedy Store pianist/archivist Jeff Scott

After a year that featured so many setbacks and hardships to the comedy community comes another sad blow. Jeff Scott, who served as the pianist and archivist for The Comedy Store since 1995, has passed away.

Originally from Ohio, Scott had become a welcome presence behind the keys for audiences and comics alike over the last 25 years. It is often said that he knew more about the legendary venue than anyone else. And since news broke this morning, the comedy community have all taken to social media to share some of their favorite memories of Jeff Scott from over the years.

WE LOST A PART OF THE COMEDY STORE, WAY TOO SOON, A HUGE HEART ❤️ AND SO FULL OF LIFE, TO KNOW HIM WAS TO LOVE HIM. WHEN HE LAUGHED AT ME ONSTAGE, I KNEW I WAS IN THE BALLPARK. GOD THIS IS SAD. Posted by Brian Holtzman on Monday, January 11, 2021
