It's weird to think that that musical rap comedy trio, The Lonely Island are announcing their first-ever tour. The trio of Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer, and Jorma Taccone blew up into national recognition as the creators of the digital shorts on Saturday Night Live which turned into hit albums bolstered by catchy songs featuring even larger pop stars and digital shorts that acted as music videos for the trio.
Their post-SNL career has been impressive as well, more records and last year at Clusterfest they performed live for the first time in front of a massive crowd. The trio wishes to repeat that feat with their first ever multi-city tour which kicks off June 15th at the Bonnaroo festival and making 7 more stops around the US before wrapping up at the end of the month in Minneapolis.
General public tickets begin Friday, March 1st on Live Nation's website. To keep tickets away from scaplers and bots, the tour is part of Ticketmaster's Verified Fan program. Fans can register through this Sunday (2/24) for a Verified Fan pre-sale that involves delivery of a code to use a checkout between Tuesday 2/26 at 10am and Thursday 2/28 at 10am local times.
