It's pretty plain to see that truTV is in the business of The Impractical Jokers, and why not? The show is a bonafide hit, with a thoroughly likeable cast, and its light-hearted nature makes it fun for the entire. Most importantly, it continues to be hilarious as it heads into its 8th season. The show also helped establish truTV as a comedy brand as they've both grown since their partnership.

This week truTV announced renewal of the show for a ninth season. While that's fantastic news for fans, the network also announced that it will expand its reach into feature films as they're going to make the brand's first-ever feature film. The film will be produced by Funny Or Die and Chris Henchy will direct. Making the move to film is a great one for truTV and doing it with one of their most-beloved brands almost ensures the win.

Sal, Mur, Q, and Joe (The Tenderloins) stated, "We’re as surprised as anyone that four dudes from Staten Island have been allowed to make a TV show for as long as we have, so the idea of making this movie is absolutely mind-blowing. We love working with Chris Linn, Marissa Ronca, Simmy Kustanowitz and the entire truTV family and we look forward to expanding and growing our partnership until they realize, truly realize, what they’ve gotten themselves into. None of this is possible without our amazing, talented and overly-dedicated TV crew, our crack team of reps and, most importantly, our dedicated fans. And now to work with Chris Henchy and the Funny Or Die team, we feel like we’re making the movie with a similar brand of good people."
