HBO has set an end-of-summer premiere date for the sophomore season of Danny McBride's Vice Principals -- which will also be the high school comedy's final season on air.
From Eastbound and Down co-creators McBride and Jody Hill, and directed by filmmaker David Gordon Green, Vice Principals' first season earned the show a loyal but apparently not sizable enough fan base; it follows the eternally aggravated high Neal Gamby (McBride) and the conniving Lee Russell (Walton Goggins), two hopeful leaders forced to co-preside over one exceptionally offbeat high school.
Based on the teaser, expect plenty of typical McBride craziness (there are shots of him in full tribal makeup, trying to rile up a tiger, which sounds about right).
Vice Principals returns to HBO on Sunday, September 17th.
