John Mulaney hosted Saturday Night Live for the first time this weekend. Some might not know this, but the comedian was a writer on the show for a handful of seasons in 2008-2013 before departing to focus on his budding stand-up comedy career. Mulaney still writes for the show from time to time, particularly when one of his most-beloved characters, Stefon returns to Weekend Update. Besides a few cameos in videos and a stop or two at the Weekend Update desk. This was Mulaney's first time telling jokes into the camera in studio 8H, and like most great stand-ups that host the show do, Mulaney took his monologue time to deliver 7 minutes of just terrific stand-up.
