Prepare for the feels! Magnoila Pictures is releasing a new movie about the life of Gilda Radner. A comedy pioneer in every sense of the word, not just for women, but for men as well. Radner was the first person Lorne Michaels hired to be on his new Saturday night sketch comedy series and she became a stand-out in a crew of stand-outs of comedy icons that cast an extremely large shadow on the comedy world over 40 years later.
Love, Gilda tells Radner's story in her own words, letters read by some of the biggest names in comedy today. Not only the funny parts, but her personal life (she was married to another legend, Gene Wilder), to her battle with cancer that ultimately took her life. If 2018 is to deliver us a one-two punch of heartfelt movies, Won't You Be My Neighbor was punch number on and Love, Gilda appears to be the second.
Love, Gilda arrives in theaters on September 21st, you can get screening and ticket info at lovegilda.com
