This week on TV: Detroiters of the ad world and The History of Comedy finally gets told

It's a big week for comedy as two new series are premiereing. Over at Comedy Central on Tuesday, Veep’s Sam Richardson and Saturday Night Live's Tim Robinson star in the new series, Detroiters. Two guys that run a Detroit-based ad agency. Tune into Comedy Central at 10:30pm to see the action featuring some of your favorite sketch comedy masters and executive produced by Lorne Michaels and Jason Sudeikis.

Then, the long-awaited premiere of the CNN 8 part series, The History Of Comedy is set to premiere on Thursday. Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner executive produce the series in conjuntion with the National Comedy Center. The series will dig deep into topics like political humor and slapstick, featuring the voices that have made us laugh over the generations. Using archival footage, original comedic material, interviews with comedy legends and luminaries, the series will showcase how the art form has evolved over the years.

That's not all though as HBO has the return of John Oliver and season 4 of Last Week Tonight as well as the beginning of the end with the 6th and final season of Girls premiering.
