This Friday, David Wain’s movie about the co-founder of National Lampoon, A Futile And Stupid Gesture will premiere on Netflix. It tells the story of the magazine and all the creatives that came out of it's network which includes many of the biggest names in comedy. Will Forte and Martin Mull star (both as Douglas Kenney), Joel McHale (as Chevy Chase), Jon Daly (as Bill Murray), John Gemberling (as John Belushi), Rick Glassman (as Harold Ramis), and Jackie Thon (as Gilda Radner). As if the trailer wasn’t enough we also know the film is packed with more funny people portraying other iconic funny Lampooners – Paul Scheer (as Paul Schaefer), Seth Green (as Christoper Guest), Thomas Lennon (as Michael O’Donoghue), and Lonnie Ross (as Ivan Reitman). So basically all the funny people of modern day are portraying funny people of yesterday.
