This week on TV: Patton Oswalt Annihilates and Trevor Noah sets up residency in Chicago

Patton Oswalt is about to release his new stand-up comedy special, Annihilation on Netflix. It’s his follow-up to his award-winning special, Talking For Clapping and first since both the 2016 election and sudden passing of his wife, true crime author Michelle McNamara. So, needless to say there’s a lot of ground for Oswalt to cover on Annihilation. From the brief clip, it appears he’s pulling no punches when it comes to the President, race, and white privilege… so he’s clearly easing back into the spotlight, taking on safe topics. Annihilation premieres on Netflix on Tuesday. Many of you will remember that we learned of McNamara’s passing on the same day as Patton’s previous special was released, so keep that in mind on the 17th and work to give Patton a much better memory around the release of one of his stand-up specials.

Over at Comedy Central, Trevor Noah and crew are packing up shop and going live from Chicago all week long.
