Netflix has announced that a brand new comedy special from Jamie Foxx will be premiering later this year.
Everything to know about Jamie Foxx's Netflix comedy special.
"I gotta story to tell," says the Academy-Award winning actor & stand-up comedian, who's been sharing cryptically on social media for the past few months messages about a new stand-up special he's been working on following his public medical emergency in April 2023.
Just earlier this week, Foxx posted some more details about his new one man show titled What Had Happened Was. This show will find Foxx taking "the stage to share his journey through a serious health scare, filled with humor, heart, and inspiration" where he'll "open up about his struggles, triumphs, and everything in between."
The post on Instagram did mention that the show would be taping October 3rd, 4th & 5th in Atlanta with no venue or ticketing information disclosed at time of posted. However as of this afternoon, 800 Pound Gorilla News has now learned that this new show will be taped for Netflix as a comedy special and it'll premiere before the end of the year.
Word has that Foxx's upcoming special to be taped was a heated bidding war that Netflix ultimately won according to Bloomberg. And this new hour will mark his first in over two decades since Jamie Foxx Unleashed: Lost, Stolen and Leaked in 2003.
Stay tuned for more details surrounding his Atlanta special taping in an upcoming story or our next special tapings radar!
