Stavros Halkias' New Movie "Let's Start A Cult" Hits Theaters This October

Stand-up comedian & Stavvy's World podcast host Stavros Halkias is headed to the big screen this Fall! The comic took social media to announce his brand new feature film Let's Start A Cult set to release in theaters October 25th. The indie comedy film for which he stars in & co-wrote with Wes Haney (The Characters with Kate Berlant & Tim Robinson on Netflix) & writer-director Ben Kitnick.


Here's the official logline for Let's Start A Cult: "Having missed out on his cult's long awaited ritual suicide, an obnoxious loser teams up with his bogus ex-messiah to rebuild their doomsday commune. Traveling together through middle America, the constantly-bickering duo induct a military wannabe, a mentally unstable mom, and a mysterious foreign hitchhiker into their cult... but will this family of outcasts fulfill their transcendent destiny, or decide this life might be worth living after all?"


Alongside Stavros, the film stars Eric Rahill, Katy Fullan, and Daniel Simonsen, with appearances from Joe Pera, Ethan SupleeTom Papa, and professional wrestler Phil “CM Punk” Brooks. Check out the newly released poster below!

"It’s really dumb and fun with jokes every minute and a TON of hilarious people in it" said Halkias when announcing the film's release date.


Before announcing Let's Start A Cult, the comic was most recently seen starring in the Netflix comedy series Tires alongside Shane Gillis. Halkias also partnered with the streamer for his latest Netflix comedy special, Fat Rascal, released last December.
