This past summer when we learned that Louis C.K. had been quietly writing and directing a new film we got excited knowing that C.K. would probably make a great quirky film in the style of Woody Allen. Now, the trailer has been released for the film (due out November 17th) and things are a bit different. You see the film, In I Love You, Daddy, has C.K. portraying a TV writer whose underage daughter (Chloë Grace Moretz) begins dating a much older filmmaker (John Malkovich).
Now, in light of the recent news of us all learning about Harvey Weinstein, the film takes a bit of a different vibe than what was intended. Now becoming a bit more of a social satire on current affairs. While there was no way C.K. could've predicted events would play out as they have these last few months, it does potentially make the film all the more relevant. The film stars a lot of people you will recognizes from Morentz and Malkocivh to Pamela Adlon, Rose Byrne, Hellen Hunt, Charlie Day, and Edie Falco.
I Love You, Daddy opens on November 17.
