Back in September, we learned about a new feature film starring Ben Stiller called Nutcrackers, his first leading role in seven years, which made its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival. He's been spending a lot of time behind the scenes producing & directing the hit Apple TV+ drama series Severance.
After securing distribution from Hulu & setting a Thanksgiving week premiere date, the streamer today unveiled a proper first look & trailer at the upcoming holiday family comedy set to premiere November 29th.
Per the official synopsis, the new film follows Mike (Stiller), a hot shot real estate developer, when "on the heels of closing the biggest deal of his career, he's pulled away from his bachelor life in the big city to a farm in rural Ohio in order to take care of his recently orphaned nephews. The four rowdy boys cause trouble every which way they turn. What Mike thought was going to be a quick trip turns into an unexpected adventure. As the holidays approach, he discovers the big hearts behind the boys' mischief. This forces him to decide between his career and being the uncle his nephews need him to be."
Nutcrackers is written by Leland Douglas and directed by David Gordon Green (whose previous credits include directing Pineapple Express & the Halloween franchise). Rob Paris, Mike Witherill, & Nate Meyer serve as producers.
In addition to Stiller, the film stars Linda Cardellini, Edi Patterson, Tim Heidecker, Toby Huss, Homer Janson, Ulysses Janson, Arlo Janson, & Atlas Janson.
