David Spade To Host New Game Show "Snake Oil" For FOX

With all the writers & actors strikes in motion, major networks & streamers have been leaning in to new ways to create more original entertainment to televised programming (more specifically, unscripted over scripted). And one of the comedic unscripted programs inspired from this has created a new game show with the help of comedians David Spade & Will Arnett

Emmy and Golden Globe Award-nominated comedian, David Spade, will be hosting & producing an all new unscripted game show this Fall for FOX called Snake Oil. Joining him on the show will also include Emmy nominee Will Arnett, who's executive producing the show through his Electric Avenue Productions.

What's Snake Oil about?

In the show’s all-new original format, contestants are pitched unique products by convincing entrepreneurs – some of whom are showcasing real business ventures, while the others are “Snake Oil Salesmen” whose products are fake. With the help of guest celebrity advisors, contestants must determine which products are real and which are a sham, for a chance to win life-changing money.

Some of the shows celebrity guest advisors include comedians Adam DeVine, JB Smoove, Natasha Leggero and more.

David Spade talking about the new show, Snake Oil.

“When FOX asked me to host their new show, I was flattered," said host David Spade. “But then they told me it was about a shady snake oil salesman, and I was a little less flattered to be the guy that immediately comes to mind.”

“David Spade’s signature brand of irreverent comedy and Will Arnett’s ingenuity, combined with the most bizarre consumer products ever devised, creates an incredibly entertaining guessing game that embodies everything Snake Oil is all about" said Allison Wallach, President of Unscripted Programming at FOX.

When does Snake Oil premiere?

The new game show, Snake Oil, premieres Wednesday, September 27th at 9/8c on FOX!
