CBS had a void in their late night schedule even before the WGA and SAG strikes. Just before all of late night shut down in May, The Late Late Show with James Corden aired their final episode. Naturally, CBS hasn’t been able to fill that slot yet as a result of the strikes. So they’re turning to some syndicated content they already own.
Byron Allen has hosted Comics Unleashed since 2006. Currently, the show is available in 14 CBS markets. On September 18th, though, the show will air nationwide in the 12:37 slot, as a limited run for the network.
Which guests have been featured on Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen?
The round-table style comedy talk show features an all star guest list of comedians such as Sebastian Maniscalco, Tiffany Haddish, Gabriel Iglesias, Leslie Jones, Roy Wood, Jr., Whitney Cummings, Kevin Hart, Chelsea Handler, Iliza Shlesinger, Marc Maron, and many more of today’s top comedians.
“Comics Unleashed is a true passion for me, simply because this world can never have enough laughter,” said Byron Allen. “I created this show so that the best comedians can all come together and bring nonstop laughter.”
It is important to note that all of the episodes will be reruns that were filmed prior to the strike. But it is at least new content!
