It's a new year, same Problemista for comedian, writer-director, & star Julio Torres!
Last summer, we were supposed to get the new feature film released in theaters. However, the movie got pulled from A24 release calendar due to the dual writer's & actor's strikes going on (it was originally supposed to be released August 4th in select theaters before going nationwide August 25th).
After finally getting over to the other side of the strikes, the film's studio, A24 has finally set a new release date for the movie coming sooner than we think (this March)!

In the new promo that they're actually able to make now post-strikes, the Los Espookys lead appears to have trouble answering a call from his co-star, Tilda Swinton, on a standard iPhone informing her about the latest news about Problemista. After not getting any luck, he then insists to chat on "our phone" that appears to be a see-through sea shell.
In the upcoming film, Torres plays an "aspiring toy designer from El Salvador, struggling to bring his unusual ideas to life in New York City." As he nears the end of his work visa, "a job assisting an erratic art-world outcast (played by Swinton) becomes his only hope to stay in the country and realize his dream."
Rounding out the cast including Torres & Swinton is RZA, Greta Lee, Catalina Saavedra, James Scully, Larry Owens, Laith Nakli, Kelly McCormack, Spike Einbinder, Greta Titelman and River L. Ramirez.
When does "Problemista" release in theaters?
The film releases in select cities March 1st and will later be released everywhere else on March 22nd.
