Just For Laughs To Return In 2024 After Bankruptcy Filing

Just For Laughs took a rare year off from their signature Montreal festival. This was - as we reported on earlier this year - due to the parent company filing for bankruptcy. The good news is, after being acquired by ComediHa! back in June, things seem to be back in play for the future.

Everything to know about Just For Laughs' return later this year.

The first part of their big return will be in Sydney, Australia. This new section of JFL will run from November 18th through the 28th. So far, Trevor Noah, Eric Idle, and Brad Williams have been announced for Sydney, with more names surely to be announced soon.

From there, the festival will then host a short stint in Bermuda from January 22nd through the 24th in 2025. Following that, it returns to Canada in February for a fest in Vancouver. That one will run from February 13th through the 22nd.

Finally, for the biggest one of them all, JFL will be returning to its original home in Montreal. The annual festival - which attracts comedians, fans, and industry contacts alike - will run from July 16th through the 27th.

As the new owner announced in a press release, “With an eye towards the future, the new leadership promises to blend the festival’s rich traditions with the evolving landscape of comedy.”

So there you have it. We’re so happy to hear JFL is making a grand comeback. More information can be found here.
