Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg together have become a household comedy filmmaking duo who've churned out the biggest comedy movies turned classics over nearly the last two decades like Superbad, Pineapple Express, This Is The End & the Neighbors franchise to name a few. Their partnership with Point Grey Pictures continues to flourish with their latest projects like TMNT: Mutant Mayhem & the series revival of Sausage Party: Foodtopia.
And now, they've come together once again for a new TV series poking jokes at Hollywood executives in the new Apple TV+ comedy series, The Studio, premiering on March 26th, 2025. Check out a first look of the new show in its teaser above.
The new show, per the official logline, follows Rogen as Matt Remick, "the newly appointed head of embattled Continental Studios. As movies struggle to stay alive and relevant, Matt and his core team of infighting executives battle their own insecurities as they wrangle narcissistic artists and craven corporate overlords in the ever-elusive pursuit of making great films."
The show's description continues, "with their power suits masking their neverending sense of panic, every party, set visit, casting decision, marketing meeting, and award show presents them with an opportunity for glittering success or career-ending catastrophe. As someone who eats, sleeps, and breathes movies, it's the job Matt's been pursuing his whole life, and it may very well destroy him."
Along with Rogen, the show stars Catherine O’Hara, Kathryn Hahn, Ike Barinholtz & Chase Sui Wonders with Bryan Cranston appearing as a guest star. After watching the show's teaser above, we'll be seeing cameos throughout the show from Rogen's previous collaborators & friends like Paul Dano, Martin Scorsese, Zac Efron, Charlize Theron & Anthony Mackie.
Rogen serves as writer, director, executive producer & co-creator on The Studio alongside Goldberg. The show's also co-created by multi-Emmy award winners Peter Huyck, Alex Gregory & Frida Perez. Point Grey Pictures’ James Weaver, Alex McAtee and Josh Fagen also serve as executive producers alongside Rogen and Goldberg.
The Studio marks Rogen's latest collaboration with Apple as he also stars in the series Platonic with Rose Byrne, which is set to return with season two soon.
