This Week In Comedy: it's a sentimental & special week in the world of comedy as it was around this week 49 years ago (on October 11th, 1975 to specific) that Saturday Night Live premiered on NBC, the show that revolutionized live television & sketch comedy forever. And now, we'll all finally get to see the chaotic & maddening behind-the-scenes story told in the 90 minutes leading up to the show's first ever broadcast on the silver screen. The new film, Saturday Night, gets its nationwide release & opens in theaters everywhere this Friday!
On the stand-up front: there's an exciting slate of new comedy specials premiering this week from the likes of Ali Wong, Heather McMahan, Maggie Maye, Mo Mandel & Paul Virzi to name a few.
Plus: on the television front, Abbott Elementary returns for its 4th season on ABC, where the hit sitcom continues it's fan praised & critically acclaimed run. Word has it this upcoming season will see a crossover between it & another Disney umbrella comedy series - It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia.
