It's back to school season!

With many students & teachers returning to campuses this week & starting classes again, we thought it'd be essential to put together a list of 10 funny Saturday Night Live sketches for going back to school. On top of it being back to school season, the iconic sketch comedy series & comedy institution is soon gonna be kicking into high gear to celebrate the show's historic 50th season beginning September 28th.

Whether you're going back to school or you're looking for a kick of nostalgia in the classroom, let these 10 hilarious SNL sketches do the work for you.

Sarcasm 101 with Matthew Perry

If there's anything to be said about the late & beloved Friends star Matthew Perry, he was truly one of the greats and his sarcastic sense humor from playing Chandler Bing on the hit NBC sitcom really shines in this classic '90s SNL sketch where Perry plays a college professor teaching Sarcasm 101. Also featured in this classic sketch are SNL greats & legends like the late Norm MacDonald, Ana Gasteyer, Will Ferrell, & Tim Meadows playing fellow obnoxiously sarcastic college students.

Career Day with Adam Driver & Pete Davidson

Career day in grade school has always been known to be an awkward day for students whose parents took the unusual route for their day job. This scene is played abundantly in this hilarious Career Day sketch led by Pete Davidson & host Adam Driver, who play father & son Mordecai & his extremely old father & "oil baron" Abraham H. Parnassus. What does an oil baron do exactly? Driver simply shouts, "CRUSH YOUR ENEMIES!"

Mostly known for his dramatic performances, Driver's appearances on SNL have consistently found him surprising viewers in the best way for his comedic delivery & hitting way harder than anticipated (also ask Davidson who's seen visibly breaking character by Driver's portrayal as an old father). Also featured in this sketch are Melissa Villasenor, Ego Nwodim, Aidy Bryant & Alex Moffat

Brother 2 Brother with Chris Hemsworth & Taran Killam

Sprinkled in every season are SNL's spoofs of kids television ripping off sitcoms from Disney Channel or Nickelodeon set in high schools similar to Saved By The Bell. This sketch is a good example of that starring Taran Killam & host Chris Hemsworth as Marky & Matty, two identical brothers in the fake show "Brother 2 Brother." When Matty is unprepared & doomed before his next math test, he turns to his brother Marky to step in his place to take the test for him in class since they're "identical" twins.

But then Marky as Matty shows up to class and doesn't take long for him to get ripped to shreds hilariously for his noticeably not as ripped & physically good looking as his twin brother by his teacher & classmates played by Cecily Strong, Aidy Bryant & Kyle Mooney.

High School Musical 4 with Zac Efron

Another great example of a Disney Channel SNL spoof is this what if High School Musical 4 sketch completely breaking the fourth wall with Zac Efron reprising his role as the East High Wildcat. Here we find Troy Bolton returning to speak at his alma mater's high school graduation speaking about his time out in "the real world" following his first year of college (and full spoiler: his education didn't help in the slightest). When asked what the capital of Texas was, one student played by Bobby Moynihan hilariously responds saying "Te- Te- Te-Texas City." Kristen Wiig attempts to answer "Texas Town."

This golden cast of SNL in 2009, added with the help of Kenan Thompson, Abby Elliott, Andy Samberg, Casey Wilson & Darrell Hammond (who plays the frozen Walt Disney) leans in effortlessly playing the TV kid stereotypes making this a staple SNL school sketch.

Spelling Bee with Will Forte

Spelling Bees can be very intense especially if you're a very shy & timid grade school student, or in this case Daniel Strong played by favored SNL alum Will Forte. This sketch shows a competition moderator played by Chris Parnell asking the student to spell the word: business. Slowly & audibly breathing in the microphone in a dead silent room, he stalls & asks to repeat the word, the word's origin, definition, to use it in a sentence before then asking as if he forgot what the assignment was to spell the word.

To humorously no avail, he asks to repeat the word one more time. At this point, we know he likely doesn't know how to spell the word before finally attempting and not only spelling it so far off wrong, Forte manages to go on an impressive 70 seconds straight spelling without breaking. Watch til the very end for a special treat: a cameo from Jack Black & Kyle Gass as Tenacious D performing a song coming to Daniel's defense for his poor attempt at the spelling bee.

Spartan Cheerleaders at Tryouts with Will Ferrell & Cheri Oteri

Everyone's favorite pair of Spartan cheerleaders, played by Will Ferrell & Cheri Oteri, holds high as such a classic recurring SNL sketch series since its debut in the late '90s. Here we find Craig & Arianna "breaking into their high school gym early in the morning to practice for the Spartan Cheerleader tryouts, because making the squad is their number one goal." Of the many notable SNL costumes that break out during Halloween, you'll often find a pair of Spartan cheerleaders roaming around practicing their quirky & coordindated routine.

The Champ with Jonah Hill

This heartwarming high school sports story about supposed high school wrestling champ Nate, played by Jonah Hill, swiftly goes South as he realizes he was really the rear end of this charity move put on by his classmates to help him win the wrestling championship.

Joining Hill in The Champ are his classmates Kate McKinnon, Jay Pharoah, Sasheer Zamata, & Jon Rudnitsky. Vanessa Bayer & Bobby Moynihan play the parents who make you wonder why they weren't at their sons wrestling match in the first place, Cecily Strong playing the reporter who breaks the "feel good story" news & Kenan Thompson playing the funny off the tongue school janitor.

Science Room with Jason Sudeikis

Revered & legendary SNL alum Jason Sudeikis returned to host & plays this hysterical science professor on PBS' "Science Room" (a recurring SNL sketch also done previously by hosts Steve Martin, Martin Short & Sam Rockwell), who seems to hold it together pretty standard at the beginning but then over time escalates his patience with these two adolescent & unassuming students played by Cecily Strong & Mikey Day, who somehow can't understand basic concepts of the solar system & social skills.

This trio manages to pace the level of absurdity so masterfully and nearly hold it together throughout the entire thing. See Cecily Strong at the end once the students' parents (played by Melissa Villasenor & Kyle Mooney) come to the room and Strong can just barely hold her facial expression together without clinching her face. Just all out hilarious.

I Broke My Arm with Emma Stone

Emma Stone over the years has proven her comedy chops from her visits to studio 8H (where she eventually joined the esteemed five timers club) and it all began in her hosting debut with the help of this laugh out loud digital short. Set in a high school cafeteria, Stone plays an accident-prone student trying to show off her casts where she continuously breaks bones when she slips and falls, blaming spilled grape jelly until it comes to life (played by Andy Samberg) and sets the record straight.

Lonely Teacher with Tina Fey & Justin Bieber

Back in 2010 when Bieber Fever was going around rapidly, a rising pop star named Justin Bieber made a notable appearance on SNL as the musical guest & sketch appearance with host & famed SNL alum Tina Fey who (as the title of this sketch implies) was a "Lonely Teacher." Fey here plays the high school teacher (not too far off from her famous role as Ms. Norbury in Mean Girls) that finds herself falling in love with her favorite student Jason Deeps (played by Bieber), and later fantasizes him singing to her about how she's the mother load. Leaning hilariously into the Bieber stereotypes during his quick rise, this sketch plays so well and is all too timely for going back to school.
