CNN announced its new comedy panel show Have I Got News For You, the American version of the long-running BBC comedy series with Roy Wood Jr. serving as the host. Ahead of its September 14th premiere date, the network has announced its newest expansion of with the addition of the show's two team captains: Michael Ian Black & Amber Ruffin.

The comedy panel series, originally started in the UK in 1990, "delivers comic observations, from the satirical to the surreal, through the lens of a news quiz show" that's now getting ready to take over America.

Together with Wood Jr., Black & Ruffin on the show, they'll "guide a rotating collection of guests including notable entertainers, political figures and comedians through an array of comic games and quick-witted panel conversations that test their knowledge of current events."

Ruffin has been serving as a writer on Late Night With Seth Meyers since the show's inception in 2014 & most recently premiered her Broadway revival of The Wiz. Black has been touring with his sketch comedy troupe The State this past year as well as his own stand-up & previously hosted Trust Me I’m A Game Show Host (with DL Hughley) and Duck Quacks Don’t Echo on National Geographic.

This new show will mark Wood Jr.'s first forray into talk show hosting since wrapping up his time on The Daily Show last year. With this seasoned comedy lineup behind CNN's Have I Got News For You, we're excited to see how they excel in this new entry into late night.
