Beloved Saturday Night Live Weekend Update duo Colin Jost & Michael Che are partnering with Peacock for a brand new live comedy event called New York After Dark, premiering next Thursday, September 12th. This new & one of a kind comedy special, presented by Colin & Michael, will give a new glimpse into the New York comedy scene for a unique showcase curated by the seasoned comedians.
New York After Dark marks Peacock's first ever live comedy event and will stream live from The Bell House in Brooklyn, featuring special guests that are notably "drop-ins only," some of Colin and Michael's favorite NYC club comics, fresh faces, and maybe even some names you already know and love. There will even be a house band supporting the show Grammy-nominated musical ensemble 1500 or Nothin’.
7F Project and No Notes Productions are the production teams behind the forthcoming event, which also marks both of their inaugural productions. Colin Jost, Jeff Grosvenor and Emily Hason are producing through No Notes Productions, whil Michael Che and Rachael Edwards are producing through 7F Project and Rikki Hughes of Magic Lemonade serves as executive producer.
This marks the duo's latest hosting gig together following this year's St. Patrick's Day Countdown in partnership with Jameson Whiskey. After hosting New York After Dark, the two will next return to studio 8H at 30 Rock for the historic season 50 premiere of Saturday Night Live on September 28th.
We're excited to see who all will be swinging by the Bell House next week for what appears to be a fun event for the New York comedy community.
