Pete Davidson is closing a chapter on the hit Peacock comedy series, Bupkis.
The comedian, who's show got renewed for season two after it's series premiere last summer, has decided to wrap the show and not move forward with season two of the semi-autobiographical series saying "this part of my life is finished."
The show follows Davidson, where he plays himself, as he attempts to work through unique family dynamics and the complexities of fame to form meaningful relationships. Starring alongside Davidson is Edie Falco (who plays his mother) & Joe Pesci (who plays his grandfather) with an all-star supporting cast including Machine Gun Kelly, Steve Buscemi, Bobby Cannavale, Charlie Day, Al Gore, Paul Walter Hauser, Chase Sui Wonders and Ray Romano.
What Pete Davidson's saying about the end of "Bupkis."
The Saturday Night Live alum said in a statement, “I’ve always seen Bupkis as a window into my life, since it is so personal and about my struggles and family. After nearly a decade of my personal life being in the media I wanted a chance to tell my story my way. Of all the work I’ve ever done, Bupkis is by far what I’m most proud of. I am so grateful to Lorne Michaels and Broadway Video, Peacock, Universal Television and the amazing cast and writers for helping me create something honest, funny and heartfelt. I do also feel that this part of my life is finished. I’m very excited for this next chapter and for you guys to see the work. Thank you to all who support me for I am forever grateful.”
Since wrapping the show's first season last year, Davidson starred in the dramedy Dumb Money, released his latest comedy special Turbo Fonzarelli on Netflix, & has been touring new stand-up on his own as well as with his friends John Mulaney & Jon Stewart. He'll also be starring in the new Amazon heist movie, The Pickup.
While we're bummed to not see this show moving forward with a second season, we're glad this show is ending on great terms!
