It easily goes without saying that podcasting in 2024 has taken on a new life of its own as an entertaining art form & medium. More often than not (especially in the stand-up comedy space), when one's being described as a stand-up comedian chances are likely that they also take on the title as podcaster. And the cool thing with podcasting is that it acts as a great way for comedians to connect with their fans in a different way that can't always be reflected on stage performing stand-up.

So in this semi-regular series beginning with Part 1, we'll be spotlighting some of the biggest comedians working today who host the biggest & funniest comedy podcasts online right now. Here are five great comedy albums from today's biggest comedy podcasters to check out on 800 Pound Gorilla!

When not performing stand-up on stage or acting on television, Andrew Santino can currently be both heard & seen hosting two of the biggest comedy podcasts online. He co-hosts the wildly popular & funny Bad Friends Podcast with friend & frequent collaborator Bobby Lee as well as his own solo show Whiskey Ginger. The aforementioned show has gained such a massive following online that's spawned a world tour & garnered the attention of Hulu where their show is currently being developed as an animated series, the same streaming service that will also release Santino's next stand-up special.

Earlier this year, Santino's latest comedy special from Netflix titled Cheeseburger was released as comedy album from 800 Pound Gorilla and fans of his who know him from that special can get to know the multi-hyphenate comic better while experiencing the album on the go. Dan Soder is a New York-based & mainstay comedian who currently hosts the podcast Soder, the show that launched late last year & consistently charts in the top 20 of all comedy podcasts on Apple and Spotify. Before launching Soder, Dan most famously co-hosted The Bonfire on SiriusXM with fellow comic Big Jay Oakerson.

Big Jay Oakerson is one of the funniest comics working today & a trailblazer for the comedy podcasting world. When not performing stand up, Jay co-host's The Bonfire alongside Robert Kelly on SiriusXM and is co-host of the wildly popular podcasts Legion of Skanks with Luis J. Gomez and Dave Smith. The aforementioned podcast since its inception has spawned one of the biggest cult followings online and plays a big role in the annual Skankfest comedy festival held in Las Vegas.

Brittany Schmitt is an LA-based, Wisconsin-raised comic who's spent time on the road opening for fellow comics Theo Von & Chris Redd.
