David Spade & Theo Von are two of the funniest stand-up comedians working today. When not on stage (or behind the podcast microphone) they've both lent their talents to the big screen in their own feature films. And now, the two comics will be teaming up on a new buddy comedy that they'll both star in & produce called Busboys, a new film they both co-wrote & are self-financing.

The new film, per an official logline, is "set in a border town in Arizona and follows David and Theo, two friends that think becoming waiters will solve all their problems. They are wrong."
Jonah Feingold, who previously worked on At Midnight & Dating In New York, is directing from Spade and Von’s script, with Robert Ogden Barnum joining the pair as producers.
Spade joked in a statement about the movie set to begin shooting in January: “We are looking forward to gracing everyone with this comedy that no one asked for.”
Spade & Von are both no strangers to the buddy comedy genre: since breaking out as a Saturday Night Live cast member in the '90s, Spade has famously starred in hit comedies like Tommy Boy, The Emperor's New Groove, Benchwarmers & Grown Ups. Von earlier this year made his big screen debut in the sports comedy Sweet Dreams starring opposite Johnny Knoxville & Bobby Lee. Busboys will mark a reunion for Von & Barnum who previously worked together on the aforementioned film.
Spade is currently busy co-hosting the podcasts Fly on the Wall & Superfly with fellow SNL alum Dana Carvey. He's also continuously touring & just taped his next stand-up special in Denver this past October.
Von has been hosting the wildly popular This Past Weekend podcast & has welcome a plethora of this year including Shane Gillis, Post Malone, Nikki Glaser among others. Von most notably welcomed a wide range of politicians this year including president-elect Donald Trump, vice president-elect JD Vance, & Vermont senator Bernie Sanders.
