Critically acclaimed stand-up comedian Heather McMahan has announced today (first reported by Hollywood Reporter) her debut special, Son I Never Had, to premiere globally on Netflix on October 17.

Shot in Lexington, Kentucky at the historic Lexington Opera House and self-produced by the comic, “McMahan tackles body image, drugs, sex, fertility, grief, and she also lets loose on female beauty standards, messing up her own IVF, and wellness retreats in this hilarious one-hour special.”
This isn't McMahan's first appearance on Netflix, she was previously featured on the 2022 Netflix special Jane Fonda & Lily Tomlin: Ladies Night Live alongside Margaret Cho, Michelle Buteau, Rachel Bloom and more. She's also starred opposite Nina Dobrev & Jimmy O. Yang in the Netflix romantic comedy, Love Hard (2021).
