Kaitlin Olson in Incoming on Netflix.

Kaitlin Olson & "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia" Writers Team Up On New High School Comedy, "Incoming"

Netflix is formally inviting you to get wild with high school freshmen for a rowdy house party in the new comedy movie, Incoming, starring Kaitlin Olson & Bobby Cannavale. The first trailer the new R-rated, coming of age, high school comedy was released today and pays homage to the high school comedy genre greats like Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Can’t Hardly Wait, and Superbad.

The film's premise is pretty simple: "four high school freshmen are faced with the greatest challenge of their young lives: their first high school party."

Incoming is written & directed by the Chernin Brothers (Dave Chernin & John Chernin) and marks their directorial debut. The two writer-directors previously collaborated with Olson on the hit & mainstay FX comedy series, It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, as well as the FOX comedy series, The Mick.

The brothers shared in a statement about why now was the right time to tell this story for their directorial debut. “We [aren't] getting any younger,” John says, laughing. “With every passing day, we were getting further away from our own time in high school. So we figured, let’s just write that one and see what happens.”

“This is the type of movie that hadn’t come along in a while,” Dave says. “There always felt like there was one of these per generation. It was just something silly that prized laughter above all else that I think we really wanted to see, more than anything.”

With Olson & Cannavale, the young high school leaning cast includes Mason Thames, Ramon Reed, Raphael Alejandro, Isabella Ferreira, Bardia Seiri, Loren Gray, Ali Gallo, Scott MacArthur, Thomas Barbusca, Kim Hawthorne, Victoria Moroles, & Kayvan Shai.

Also involved behind the scenes is Nicholas Stoller serving as a producer, who's behind two massive R-rated comedy staples Forgetting Sarah Marshall & Neighbors.

When does the new movie "Incoming" premiere on Netflix?

Incoming crashes onto Netflix on August 23rd.
