Last night, longtime Saturday Night Live cast members & Weekend Update duo Colin Jost & Michael Che hosted Peacock's first ever live stream comedy special called New York After Dark. The two comedy vets took the stage at The Bell House in Brooklyn to present a curated & unfiltered showcase special of their favorite & handpicked New York club comics, fresh faces & a slate of guest appearances & friends throughout the night.

Among the fresh faces that performed included former SNL writer Alex English, Aida Rodriguez, Karlous Miller, Aminah Imani & current Emmy-nominee Mike Birbiglia. The guest drop ins from the night included Jost's fellow Staten Island native Sal Vulcano from Impractical Jokers & fellow SNL cast member Sarah Sherman.

As it goes with live streamed events, anything can happen including an off-script & impromptu podcast interview.

Once Birbiglia took the stage to close out the night with his 10 minute set, the Working It Out podcaster couldn't resist the opportunity to take a few minutes to propose an on the spot interview with & poke fun at Jost for not getting on his podcast sooner. The Old Man & The Pool comedian had been texting Jost persistently for years to be a guest on his show after watching Jost's Weekend Update appearances.

What did Mike Birbiglia ask Colin Jost on "New York After Dark"?

"I thought I'd ask him the questions I would've asked him on my podcast, do you wanna hear the questions?" says Birbiglia to Jost & the crowd while holding his signature color coded note cards as seen on his show. He later assures Jost that he asked for Che's permission & needless to say, Che was thrilled & "totally good with it."

The first question he asked Jost was "On a scale of 1-10, how much more talented do you think your wife Scarlett Johansson is than you? 10 being so much more talented it's hard to get out of bed in the morning and 1 being more talented but you're able to block it out of your mind by drinking in verbal abuse of your staff?" Jost replies bent over chucking with a palm to the face, "I don't know, 5?"

The next question asked was, "You have a forty second cameo in your wife's film Fly Me To The Moon, was that because of how long your typical sexual encounter lasts?" asks Birbiglia to which Jost responds with shock & hysteria. Although there wasn't an official answer to this question, he couldn't help but acknowledge the cordial interaction the two of them had backstage as he certainly did not anticipate this from running the show at dress rehearsal.

For Birbiglia's last question, he asks, "Finally, I heard it said that your chemistry with Michael Che is what makes all of us love Weekend Update, but I've also heard it said that you have no personality and it could be literally anyone with Michael Che including an air mattress or one of the cakes from Is It Cake?. Which do you think is true?" Jost replied "It's cake."

Jost's response to this interaction felt so reminiscent of him & Che's annual Joke Swap on SNL in the way he was in awe & just responding to the wow factor of the encounter. Jost couldn't have been a better sport about it, so here's to hoping he formally makes his debut on Mike's hit comedy podcast, Working It Out, sooner than later.
