"SNL" Scribes Mikey Day & Streeter Seidell Have Written A New Live-Action "Rugrats" Movie

Paramount Pictures is assembling an all-star team of comedy talent to bring Rugrats, the hit Nickelodeon cartoon series from the '90s, to the big screen for a live-action/CGI adaptation. Among the names recruited for the new film are Saturday Night Live writer-cast member & writer respectively Mikey Day & Streeter Seidell penning the film's script.

Everything we know so far about the new live-action Rugrats movie.

Day & Seidell together have written some of SNL's most popular sketches this past season including the viral Beavis & Butthead sketch starring Day & Ryan Gosling, the Nate Bargatze Washington's Dream sketch & even Pete Davidson's I'm Just Pete sketch.

The new Rugrats film, currently untitled with the script under wraps, will center around toddler pals Tommy, Chuckie, Phil and Lil. The series ran from 1991 to 2004 & aired nine seasons, which included the Rugrats Movie in 1998 & later spawned two sequels.

In addition to Day & Seidell being involved, the film will be directed by Jason Moore, who's best known for directing the musical-comedy Pitch Perfect starring Anna Kendrick & Rebel Wilson & the Tina Fey & Amy Poehler starring 2015 comedy Sisters. Moore is also a Tony Award nominee who's behind the hit broadway shows Avenue Q & Shrek the Musical.

With this comedy behind the scenes team in place, this will certainly be a movie we look forward to seeing unfold more especially as it'll get the theatrical treatment!
