Beavis and Butt-head on Saturday Night Live.

Watch: Ryan Gosling & Mikey Day Hilariously Portray "Beavis and Butt-Head" On SNL

This past weekend's episode of SNL with host Ryan Gosling had two things clearly on display throughout the whole night. One was how evidently fun everyone, including him & the whole cast of Saturday Night Live, were having during each sketch. There was no moment when you could feel like a sketch was being forced or cut to the record (there were smiles all around as the kids say). The second being that no one could hold it together, stay in character & keep a straight face for a single sketch (and rightfully so). These end up being the most memorable & stand-out moments we look back on as the show goes on its current 49th season.

This "Beavis and Butt-Head" sketch on SNL had us crying laughing.

One of the many great sketches where we see both of these qualities on display is Gosling & cast member Mikey Day playing one of adult animation's most iconic duos in television history - Beavis and Butt-Head. This sketch sets itself up as a bit about a news segment on News Nation about AI, but then quickly escalates once the interviewer (Heidi Gardner) notices her guest (Kenan Thompson) getting particularly distracted seeing a familiar face in the audience.

"Professor, is there a problem?" Gardner's journalist asked.

"Um, yeah. There is a gentleman in your audience who looks strikingly similar to Beavis, from the cartoon Beavis and Butt-Head," the professor admitted. "Just a little distracting."

But then things escalate even further. Once Beavis (Gosling) is told to switch seats, a different person sits in the seat (who appeared similarly Butt-Head in the classic "Skull" shirt). Gardner clearly did not know what was coming with Day's portrayal of Butt-Head once she saw him (this is the part what she just completely broke and needed a minute to collect herself). Even Michael Longfellow in the audience next to Day couldn't hold back that beaming smile trying not to laugh.

Giggles amongst this particular duo continue to erupt as they're now assigned to sit next to each other towards the end of the interview.

"You two really don't know that you look like Beavis and Butt-Head?!" Thompson yells.

"I've heard rumblings that I look like someone from TV, but maybe it's this Beavis person. I don't know, I don't watch much television, I have an incredibly busy life," Gosling's Beavis says.

This sketch then ends perfectly with a quick nod to another iconic classic Mike Judge series (courtesy of Marcello Hernandez, James Austin Johnson, Andrew Dismukes & featured player Molly Kearney).
