Sebastian Maniscalco has announced his partner for his upcoming comedy special: he's joining the likes of Bill Burr, Jim Gaffigan, Chris Distefano, Ilana Glazer & more over at Hulu to premiere his next special under the streamer's comedy banner "Hularious."
Everything to know about Sebastian Maniscalco's Hulu comedy special.
The new special, currently untitled, "is expected to tackle what Maniscalco sees as the absurdities of modern life, from nonexistent manners and wallet-winced prices to the chaos of social media."
It'll be directed by Emmy-Award winner Paul Dugdale & filmed during his on-going It Ain't Right tour, which recently saw the comic perform a record breaking run of sold out shows at Madison Square Garden in New York City earlier this month. Before breaking that record, Maniscalco also placed in last year's top 10 highest grossing comedians on tour list.
“How many times do you catch yourself thinking, ‘It Ain’t Right’?” he shares in a statement ahead of the new hour. “This special is my way of uniting us to laugh at the ridiculousness of the world around us, and I’m thrilled to share it with my fans. So, get your sweats on, pop yourself some popcorn, and get ready to laugh.”
Ahead announcing his partnership with Hulu, Maniscalco performed an unforgettable co-headlining show with Jerry Seinfeld, Jim Gaffigan & Nate Bargatze during Netflix Is A Joke Fest at the beginning of this summer. Maniscalco also spent a good chunk of this past year on the screen both on streaming & in theaters: he starred opposite Academy Award winner Robert De Niro in About My Father & premiered the first season of his starring & Chuck Lorre-produced comedy series Bookie on Max (with season two expected to come soon).
Now that we know for sure his next special is going to Hulu, it now only makes even more sense that Maniscalco could host the 97th Academy Awards next year (check out the full list of potential candidates here).
